What are ‘team leaders’ and why are they so important?
Young talented team leaders, or team leads, are the people who mobilise their team members into action and ensure the team meets its objectives as a whole. The ‘team lead’ role is a critical one in today’s organisational environment.
What makes a great team leader?
Team leaders need to be strategic planners, diplomats, and project managers all in one. They need to be able to see the ‘big picture’ and how everyone fits into this. Effective people management and communication skills are also crucial to manage daily operations.
They need to know how to engender positive regard, tap into the character strengths of individual team members, inspire, manage and support them to meet KPI’s and QA measures, deal with legislative and organisational changes, and all before morning tea.
